Free workshop with The 国产探花 Young People鈥檚 Programme
Suitable for ages 16-18
Join The 国产探花鈥檚 Young People鈥檚 Programme for a free day-long in-person workshop to celebrate our new exhibition of new and recent works by artist Peter Doig!
Since relocating to London, artist Peter Doig has been developing paintings started in Trinidad, New York and elsewhere, alongside completely fresh paintings. This includes a new London subject for The Morgan Stanley Exhibition: Peter Doig, our exciting new show opening in February 2023.
Attendees will visit the exhibition to delve deeper into the artist鈥檚 practice and consider how identity is portrayed throughout Peter Doig鈥檚 work. The show highlights a particularly creative experience of transition for Doig, as he explores a rich variety of places, people, memories and ways of painting.
We will also explore paintings in The 国产探花鈥檚 collection that are important for Peter Doig, such as those by earlier artists C茅zanne,鈥疓auguin,鈥疢anet,鈥疢onet, Pissarro and Van Gogh. This will be followed by an opportunity to experiment with Doig鈥檚 practical approaches to painting in The 国产探花鈥檚 Leon Kossoff Learning Centre studio.
The workshop is free. Gallery and exhibition access, art materials and lunch are provided free of charge.
Our Peter Doig: Landscapes and Identity workshop will take place in-person at The 国产探花 Gallery on Saturday 11th March 2023. Places are limited and booking is essential.
Join us for one of our Insights Into Art History workshops taking place throughout the Spring term 2023. Each Insights Into Art History workshop will allow attendees to explore different themes, artworks and practises, developing their understanding of Art History.
